A very special article from my best friend Patrick who is currently working on a campaign for breast cancer awareness in Washington, D.C. Patrick was my #womancrushwednesday interview last week (you can read more about him here) He truly inspires me every day to become a better person. Patrick suffered and fought through his own battles and is now helping spread awareness about this life threatening disease, breast cancer.
I really cannot say enough about how huge Patrick’s heart is. He truly is one of the kindest people I know and I’m honored to be his friend the last decade. Right now Patrick is helping fund a breast cancer awareness fund in Washington and could really use some help! I thought I would use this platform to spread awareness and help out an incredible cause ♥️
Hi! My name is Patrick, and I am one of 10 chosen Real Men Wear Pink participants for the Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia area. (We here call it the DMV, haha!) Real Men Wear Pink was created to help bring awareness to Breast Cancer, to not only women, but men as well. One out of 1000 men are diagnosed with breast cancer, still NOTHING compared to the one out of eight women are diagnosed.
Here in the DMV area the American Cancer Society has special programs to help those who have had cancer touch their life. Anywhere from Transportation to and from doctors visits, or helping with a makeover with new makeup and high quality wigs to help hide the signs of chemo. My favorite program is called Hope Lodge. Each Hope Lodge offers cancer patients and their caregivers a free place to stay when their best hope for effective treatment may be in another city.
I have provided a link here to my campaign to raise money for research to find a cure, and to help support these important programs. Anything helps 😍.
If you could find in your hearts to help this cause, please feel to reach out to Patrick through the donation site or contact me directly. Just remember we are stronger together 💪🏻
