Week 5 of 52: Learning Something New; I learned how to meditate 🧘‍♀️


I promised myself, this year each and every week I would try something brand new. From trying out a new yoga routine to taking my vert solo road trip. This week I decided to try out something completely out of my comfort zone – Meditation.

After a reader suggestion, I downloaded the “Head Space” app from the Apple Store. (I promise I was not sponsored for this app, it just really helped me!) The benfits of this app? It’s mostly fully free and you can adjust your time as you need it.


Set your app for 3 to 10 minutes and find a cozy place to sit. That’s honestly all you really need to start a good meditation program.

For me I wanted to a good start. I bought myself this adorable meditation coushion from Amazon. But I think I just might make this a DIY craft project in the future! Maybe with my new sewing machine?? With some ADORABLE fabric? I think so.

For me, making a habit of meditation is what works. I know when I pull out the cushion, when I pop in my headphones – it’s routine. I’m already starting to relax.

SO I STARTED MEDITATING: small breaks during my lunch hour, a few minutes when I just wake up AND even just a few minutes while I’m laying in bed trying to fall asleep. This guided meditation app really really helps, but now I can use these techniques any time I’m feeling a little worried or anxious at work or home.

Seriously I’m already reaping in the benefits of this routine. My head feels a bit clearer and I feel like that elephant that has been sitting on my chest is finally standing up a bit releasing some of the pressure.


I know a lot of people suffer from severe anxiety, just like myself – but I have to tell you this is the one thing that has actually helped me.
